How does one find the Google PageRank of a webpage without
installing the Google toolbar?

Thanks

Why not just install the toolbar?

Other than that can't you goto dmoz.org and find your page in there...it gives a relative rank

Actually, it is the dmoz directory, but not at dmoz.org. It's at http://www.google.com/dirhp
It shows the PR next to the URL if your URL is included.

I don't want Google spying on me.

I think you're giving Google too much credit. The only thing it's sending back to Google is the URL. If more information was being send, you'd see a jump in the data transfer, and it would slow down page loads. I don't see that on my machine, and I use the Google toolbar. 8)

No it doesn't. How often a site is visited has nothing to do with PR.

A lot of people think that the Google toolbar is like the Alexa toolbar, where a site's rank gets jacked up the more you visit it. Google hasn't explained in any detail how the toolbar affects a site's ranking, if at all. I do tend to think it helps Google tyake notice of a site, though.

We never submitted Quality-Web.Hosting.net to Google. And it has no inbound links, but I did visit it often, and it's already indexed. And it's only been up like two or three weeks. :!:

No it's not (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=allinurl%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fquality-web-hosting.net%2F) Not listed on www2 or www3 either.

It's still in flux, but I'm consistently getting it on www3 and www2. Only sometimes am I not getting it on www.google.com

http://www3.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=www.quality-web-hosting.net&btnG=Google+Search

Ah! There you are!

You do have inbound links though. At least one. The link from the Memberlist here (PR of 6) would be enough to get you crawled. Your backlinks will most likely not show up until the update and then only those with a PR of 4 or higher.

I'm going to get it done quick, get some good links to it and try for PR7 for that site. I really didn't want Google to pick it up so soon.
