I'm thinking of breaking up the forum into categories.
I'm thinking along thee lines:
Webmaster Forum
to include the Announcements and Forum Lobby

And then...well, Hosting should have it's own category? That'd be strange. Suggestions?
And should we have a separate forum for different types of programming, like a "php forum", and a "HTML forum"?

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh more categories. There are already 1237 categories as it is it seems. j/k. That sounds fine, you do have a lot of categories though, but then again you cover a lot of issues......hmmmm......I guess if i had smarter people on my board I would put more categories, but if i put more up then they would just have a brain lock, plus no one would post in them because they have no interest other than posting emotes

You could probably break it into 4 distinct categories...
Site News - Rules and Announcements, Forum Lobby..
Search Engine - that would be optimization and submission type topics...
Design - which could have the phpbb and website reviews as well as the graphics and programming topics
Webmaster - Where you could have making money, pay per click should be in that one too..

Ok maybe one more...
Contests - or something along those lines.. I hate to borrow an idea from another but I think juggopop has a great idea for the design contests..
Of course alot of these will overlap in some arenas such as the webmaster will overlap into design or SEO..etc.etc.

I think too many categories are confusing and turns away guests...I'd stick with what we have until we get more posts :)

I think I'll go with that for now. 8)

Maybe like this:

Webmaster Forum

Your main forums

Search Engines

All your Search Engine forums

General or The Internet

Any other forums

You only need a few. 8)

Thanks, Mr Tech, I'm thinking I'll do something like that in the near future when we get a few more posts/members. 8)

Thank you, Mr Tech.
BTW, are you into algorithms? I need to discuss algorithms with some members, but most members are more interested in programming and graphic design.
