Does anyone know how to make google search for a page when you type in a domain and it doesn't exist? When I type in a domain name that doesn't exist I get sent to a crappy MSN page saying "try this" or "did you mean this" page... and I was wondering if any of you google experts know how to make it just go ahead and search google instead.
thanks for any ideas...

MSN???
Are you searching www.Google.com ? On Google, when I searched for www.not-really-a-domain-at-all.com I got 2 options:
If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.not-really-a-domain-at-all.com
Find web pages that contain the term "www.not-really-a-domain-at-all.com" :
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=www.not-really-a-domain-at-all.com
If you want to know if that URL is mentioned elsewhere on the Internet, click on the Find web pages that contain the term "www.not-really-a-domain-at-all.com" option.
Or are you asking something else?

thanks... but no... I was talking about typing "www.Not-A-Real-Domain.com" into the address bar of my IE. a long time ago, it use to just say 404 and leave the domain in the addressbar for me to make corrections for whatever I misspelled.... (still does it if I type "http://" in front of it.)
now it does this: http://auto.search.msn.com/results.asp?cfg=DNSERROR&v=1&FORM=DNSERR&q=www%2En ot%2Da%2Dreal%2Ddomain%2Ecom%2F
(and as you can see this is a comon problem... or the PR wouldn't be an 8... i wouldn't think)
basicly I was wondering if Google has the auto search option so I can set up my IE to make it go there instead.

MSN has PR10, so any subpages will habve high PR. It's not actual PR, it's just estimated PR. Like this page here. Google hasn't indexed it, because it's a new page, so Google assigns an estimated PR to it. Usually it goes like this:
Index = PR "X"
Directory page = PR "X"-1
Subdirectory = PR "X"-2

Well, no, but it seems your browser is set to search MSN. MSN sucks. Change the default to Yahoo (Yahoo uses Google for search.)... I never search that why. My home page is set to Google. :lol:

Oh, ok. I know a lot of people type things in their address bars. If I don't have it in my favorites, I just type in the URL in the Google toolbar search box. ...
