I saw the first. Actually, I got the DVD here. But I wasn't impressed.... A lot of people do like it, though... I guess I'm just more into Ocean's Eleven type movies.

I like the movie.I only saw the first one.I wanna see The Two Towers.My friends who lives Japan, they also want to see the movie.Everybody likes the movie...I guess.. :wink:

Obviously it helps to have read the books - if you didn't, then the first film had a lot of work to do in catching you up with the characters, the background and even the history of the way the races of men, elves, hobbits etc all interacted.
Without reading the books, my wife was impressed by the movie, but a little "underwhelmed" - I, on the other hand had read every Tolkien book and thought it was marvellous.
We saw LOTR: The Two Towers on Sunday, and I thought it was probably the best movie I've ever seen - my wife loved it a LOT more than the first film.
We will DEFINITELY be adding this to our DVD collection as soon as possible!
